Lana Condor praised her co-star Anna Cathcart and newcomer Lola Tung as they take over the Jenny Han TV universe.
On Cathcart: The 20-year-old Cathcart, who portrays Kitty, the younger sister of Condor’s character Lara Jean in the “To All the Boys” film franchise, is now the lead star of the spinoff series “XO, Kitty.”
When asked by Today.com whether she has any advice for Cathcart, Condor said, “I don’t really have any advice for Anna because I think that she’s just so successful. She’s so smart, she’s so prepared all the time. She doesn’t need my advice, she’s crushing it.
Condor further described Cathcart as “one of the strongest women I know” and emphasized the importance of “surround[ing] yourself by good people” on the rise to fame.
On Tung: Condor was also asked about the TV adaptation of Jenny Han‘s novel “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
She similarly expressed confidence in the show’s lead, Lola Tung, 20, stating that she is “crushing it as well.”
“I’ve seen people lose themselves,” Condor added. “Anna and Lola, I’m sure are not going to.”
Upcoming projects: Condor’s latest film, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken,” prepares to hit theaters on Friday. A forthcoming project the 26-year-old actor is looking forward to is her indie romantic comedy “Worth the Wait.”
The film, directed by Taiwanese director Tom Shu-Yu Lin, has been likened to an all-Asian version of “Love Actually” with a cast that includes Ross Butler, Andrew Koji and Sung Kang.
