YG Entertainment addresses rumors BLACKPINK’s Rosé dating Kang Dong-won
BLACKPINK’s agency, YG Entertainment, has issued a statement denying the dating rumors between BLACKPINK member Rosé and South Korean actor Kang Dong-won.
The rumors started after Rosé, 26, was seen in an April 11 Instagram Story taken at an event with Italian designer and former Burberry Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci, with Kang also in attendance.
Netizens began speculating about a possible relationship between the two stars based on matching accessories, outfits and past events the two both attended.
Initially, YG Entertainment responded to the rumors by saying, “It’s difficult to confirm facts related to our artist’s personal life.” However, the rumors continued to circulate on social media, leading to a second statement from the company.
In the second statement, YG Entertainment categorically denied the rumors:
This is YG Entertainment. Previously, we conveyed earlier that it is not possible to confirm the artist’s personal matter in regards to Rosé, but we inform you once again as indiscriminate speculation has continued. We reveal that the dating rumors reported today regarding Rosé are not true, and we would be grateful if you could help so that information different from the facts is not circulated.
Kang, 42, recently starred in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s 2022 film “Broker.” It also stars IU, Song Kang-ho and Bae Doo-na, and was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
Rosé and her fellow BLACKPINK members made history last weekend as the first K-pop act to headline Coachella. They also announced the North American encore concerts for their “Born Pink” world tour, which will see them head to New Jersey, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles in August.
