Netflix, in partnership with Las Vegas game maker Light & Wonder, is launching a slot machine based on “Squid Game” in casinos next year.
Games and prizes: The machine will integrate iconic games from the show such as “Red Light, Green Light,” “Tug of War” and “The Glass Tile,” according to a news release. A digital slots game featuring three bonus rounds will also be introduced.
The game marks Netflix’s first product licensing deal in the casino and gambling industry. A Light & Wonder spokesperson said top prizes will start at $200,000 to $400,000, according to Variety.
The machine: The game will be housed in Light & Wonder’s new large-screen jumbo cabinet, Horizon, which boasts a 75-inch screen with 600,000 individual micro-LED pixels. The cabinet also comes with “a large, transparent iDeck with integrated lighting, 27-inch touch screen, mobile charger and dual play buttons for an immersive and seamless player experience.”
When it’s out: The slot machine will hit casino floors sometime next year. The game’s digital version appeared in the recent Global Gaming Expo (G2E).
Everything “Squid Game”: Aside from the casino game, fans of the popular South Korean survival thriller have multiple projects to look forward to. Netflix’s reality show, “Squid Game: The Challenge,” is out on Nov. 22, while a pop-up immersive experience called “Squid Game: The Trials” will launch in Los Angeles on Dec. 6.
The second season of “Squid Game” is in production.
