Rapper Jeezy and “The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai are calling it quits after over two years of marriage.
Key details: Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, filed for divorce in Georgia’s Superior Court of Fulton County on Thursday.
What it says: The filing noted that Jeezy, 45, and Mai, 44, are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” adding that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation,” according to People. Mai and Jeezy reportedly have a prenuptial agreement.
Their daughter: Jeezy noted in the filing that he wants to share joint legal custody of their daughter, Monaco, who was born in January 2022.
The American rapper let the court handle the final “decision-making” to establish a “specific parenting time schedule” consistent with “the best interests” of their daughter, RadarOnline reported.
How they met: Jeezy and Mai reportedly met on the set of “The Real” and started dating in November 2018. They officially confirmed their relationship in August 2019 and got engaged during a “surprise quarantine date night” on March 27, 2020. The former couple were married in March 2021.
