Pizza Hut Japan brings back popular pizzas from the ’90s
Pizza Hut Japan is bringing back popular pizzas from the past to celebrate its 50th year in Japan.
About the release: On June 19, the fast-food chain announced that it will offer specialty pizzas that were popular on its menus in the 1990s, such as the Idaho Special, the Sicilian, the Daddini and BBQ Chicken.
In a recent press release, Pizza Hut shared that it hopes the reissued pizza flavors will spark conversations between older and younger generations, encouraging parents to tell their children about what life was like back in the 1990s.
Idaho Special: This unique pizza’s ingredients include a mayo sauce base, special tomato sauce, diced potato, bacon, onion and parsley.
The Sicilian: This pizza features mushroom, fried eggplant, garlic, parsley and a special meat sauce.
The Daddini: This pizza has a special basil sauce and various toppings such as smoked chicken, mushroom, onion, garlic and green pepper.
BBQ Chicken: In addition to barbecue-flavored chicken, this pizza also includes mushroom, pepper, garlic, onion, a special tomato sauce and basil sauce.
Legend 4: Anyone interested in trying the four different pizzas can order the aptly named Legend 4, which includes a few slices of each.
Cost and availability: Each pizza retails for prices starting at 1,400 yen (approximately $10.45) and be purchased nationwide in Japan until Oct. 22.
