Netflix unveiled a first look at its upcoming live-action adaptation of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on Saturday.
What was shared: During their annual Tudum fan event, which was held in São Paulo, Brazil, last week, the streaming giant shared photos of Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka and Dallas Liu as Zuko.
In addition to the pictures, Netflix also revealed a 53-second video titled “Water, Earth, Fire, Air.” The video shares that the live-action series will premiere sometime in 2024.
About “Avatar: The Last Airbender”: The hit animated series, which ran for three seasons from 2005 to 2008, was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
It follows 12-year-old Aang, the current Avatar who must learn how to bend all four classical elements — water, earth, fire and air — to stop the Fire Nation from its raging war against other nations. Aang receives help from his friends Katara, Sokka and Toph to bring peace back to their world.
