NCT 127 to drop first graphic novel, ‘NCT 127: Limitless’
K-pop boy group NCT 127 are set to make their graphic novel debut with the upcoming release of “NCT 127: Limitless.”
According to Variety, NCT 127, their label SM Entertainment and Universal Music Group teamed up with Z2 Comics to produce an original graphic novel following the latter’s successful collaborations with other musicians, such as Gorillaz and Weird Al Yankovic.
The graphic novel’s title, “Limitless,” is also the title of the boy band’s second EP, which was released in 2017. As per the Z2 Comics website, the graphic novel will be presented using the manhwa — South Korean comic — format and will feature a “reality-crossing mystery” where the NCT 127 members deal with “otherworldly scenarios” and strange dreams amid their world tour and forthcoming stadium show in New York.
“Limitless” was co-written by Allison Goulet-Scott and features artwork by Kayla Felty and 24×4. Meanwhile, the book’s cover art was created by Felty and colorist Megan Huang.
K-pop fans can choose from 10 distinct hardcover versions, with nine of them dedicated to each active member of the boy band. The general cover features the full group and will be priced at $21.99.
Z2 Comics is also offering an “NCTZen Cover Bundle,” which includes all 10 cover variations and 10 NCT 127 trading cards for $199.00; a “Deluxe Collectable Edition,” which includes a certificate of authenticity, a custom-designed slipcase and other exclusive content for $99.99; and a “Platinum Collectable Edition,” which comes with a limited edition trading card, a signed book by a member of NCT 127 and other exclusive content for $299.99.
SM Entertainment expressed their excitement over the world’s first officially licensed print K-pop graphic novel in a recent statement.
We’re overjoyed to unite with Z2 Comics to witness NCT 127 expand beyond the boundaries of music into graphic novels. NCT was designed as a project of unlimited potential, unrestrained by geography and formal boundaries.
“Limitless” will be released in the summer and will be available in both English and Korean. Fans can pre-order now via the Z2 Comics website.
