‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’ is getting its own Studio Ghibli cookbook

What’s in it: The cookbook, titled “Ghibli’s Dining Table Children’s Cooking Picture Book — Kiki’s Delivery Service,” will highlight iconic dishes shown in the movie such as Osono’s milk soup, Kiki’s special browned pancake and Gutiokipanja’s mountain-shaped bread and round buns, according to a press release.

Other dishes include roasted herring and pumpkin pie, cookies bought by Tombo, special chocolate cake made by Madame, magic berry soda, witch’s ribbon snack, black cat lollipop cakes, open sandwich in the attic and Tombo’s striped jelly.

Made for fans: Studio Ghibli fans can expect easy-to-follow Japanese instructions in the 64-page cookbook. Even children can prepare the recipes under the supervision of their parents, according to the release. The book also contains pictures and categorizes the dishes based on their difficulty. The ingredients are accessible in supermarkets.

Not the first: Studio Ghibli has been releasing cookbooks based on its popular movies since 2021 as part of its “Dining Table” series, which has so far included “Aya and the Witch,” “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Castle in the Sky.”

“Ghibli’s Dining Table Children’s Cooking Picture Book – Kiki’s Delivery Service” will be available on Amazon Japan starting March 14 for 1,760 yen ($80).
