More than two decades after the release of their studio album “Happy Ending,” Keanu Reeves’ alternative rock band Dogstar are set to share new music.
On Wednesday, Dogstar posted an update on Instagram for their fans.
The social media post features a behind-the-scenes image taken during a recent photo shoot with the band’s three members: Reeves, Robert Mailhouse and Bret Domrose.
“Last set up on the roof in Lincoln Heights for @dogstarband photo shoot. Exciting news coming soon. Thanks for being so patient,” the post’s caption reads.

Dogstar reunited last year, according to their Instagram account.
Since July 2022, their social media posts have updated their fans on their reunion, their upcoming album and their upcoming tour.

Their March 29 Instagram post notably features a picture of the bandmembers jamming together.
“Dogstar getting ready for the summer and writing more new material,” they wrote in their post’s caption.

Several fans were quick to comment on Dogstar’s Instagram posts, with many of them expressing their excitement.
“Memories of my mom and i being body slammed at your concert in Chicago. I took someone from my family to each of the 3 concerts i attended. Everyone has seen you except my dad!” a longtime fan wrote.
“For so many years we never even thought a come back was possible, this is like a dream come true … seriously lookimg [sic] forward to it all,” another Instagram user said.
“This tour will make me feral. it will heal the sick. it will turn water into wine. it will lead the way,” another user wrote.
Reeves and Mailhouse started Dogstar in Los Angeles in 1991.
Gregg Miller, the band’s original lead guitarist and vocalist, left in 1995 and was replaced by Domrose later that year. Reeves is still the band’s bassist, while Mailhouse continues to be its drummer and percussionist.
Dogstar were active from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s before they disbanded.
Since their inception, they have released one EP — 1996’s “Quattro Formaggi” — and two studio albums — 1996’s “Our Little Visionary” and 2000’s “Happy Ending.” They also appeared in the 1999 film “Me and Will” and the 2005 film “Ellie Parker,” which stars Naomi Watts.
