BLACKPINK’s Jennie Kim and singer-songwriter The Weeknd may have teased a collaboration on a new song featured in the upcoming HBO series, “The Idol.”

Fan speculation began after videos from Jennie’s launch party in South Korea for her new Calvin Klein capsule collection went viral.

Sister duo and DJs Simi and Haze Khadra were in attendance spinning tracks for the event. During their set, they cut short the viral TikTok hit “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” by PinkPantress and Ice Spice to play a “special song,” as described by one of the sisters.

An unreleased track can then be heard with vocals that sounds like Jennie’s, followed by a male voice that sounds like The Weeknd’s.

Jennie also reposted a story by Dazed Korea that featured a snippet of the song and added tags for “The Idol” and The Weeknd. Meanwhile, the Khadra sisters reshared clips of the song on their Instagram, tagging Jennie, The Weeknd and “The Idol.”

“The Idol,” co-created by The Weeknd and “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, is set to premiere on June 4.

The show stars The Weeknd as nightclub owner and cult leader Tedros, who takes over the career of aspiring pop singer Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp.

The series has been marred with production issues, delays and recastings. Jennie allegedly does not have much screen time.

“It was like three or four lines per episode for her,” a source previously said. “They didn’t let her talk that much. Her job was to sit there [and] look pretty, basically.”

“The Idol” is slated to premiere out of competition at the Cannes film festival later this month.
