‘Sakra’ exclusive clip: Donnie Yen battles group of 4 men in epic wuxia fight scene
Donnie Yen’s big-budget martial arts fantasy film “Sakra” hits cinemas Friday.
The Hong Kong actor’s passion project, which he directed and co-produced, is an adaptation of the classic wuxia novel “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils” by Louis Cha.
Yen stars in the film as Qiao Feng, the leader of a band of martial artists. After he is wrongfully accused of murder, he goes on the run to clear his name and find out more about his origins.
In an exclusive clip shared with NextShark, Qiao Feng fights four men at the same time in an epic battle.
Meanwhile, Chen Yuqi’s character, Azhu, can be seen fighting off two attackers despite being badly injured.
“The Proud Dragon repents!” Qiao Feng declares before delivering the final blow at the end of the clip.
Yen brought on his personal martial arts, stunt, costume and creative crews to elevate his passion project.
The “John Wick 4” star also brought on action director icons Kenji Tanigaki and Yan Hua.
His film’s other cast members include Cya Liu (“Limbo), Wu Yue (“Ip Man 4”), Wong Kwan Hing (“A Fist Within Four Walls”), Du Yuming (Joy of Life”), Lui Leung Wai (“The Bund”) and Tsui Siu Ming (“Kung Fu Jungle”), among others.
“Sakra’s” digital release is slated for April 18. Check out its official trailer below.
