Disney+ recently released the trailer for its upcoming original movie “The Slumber Party.”
What it’s about: The film’s two-minute trailer, which was shared on June 23, shows Megan (played by Darby Camp), Paige (Emmy Liu-Wan) and Veronica (Alex Cooper Cohen) waking up after a slumber party and realizing that their friend Anna Maria (Valentina Herrera) is missing.
Viewers can expect to see “the hilarious aftermath of a sleepover birthday party hypnotism gone wrong” after the girls “wake up with absolutely no memory of the night before,” the film’s synopsis states. “Now they must retrace their steps to find missing birthday girl Anna Maria and explain why there’s a flock of baby ducks in the bathtub, what happened to Megan’s eyebrow, and why she’s wearing unattainable hottie Jake Ramirez’s signature black hoodie.”
The film is directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Stephanie Sperberg, Jennilee Cummings, Jake Fuller, Tony Hernandez and John Hodges serve as executive producers.
Reactions: Several people commented on the film’s YouTube trailer, with one writing, “I wasn’t sold until you showed the bathtub full of baby duckies. Now, I’m hyped!”
“The Hangover but as children, ok I’m interested in this,” another user commented.
“This is like The Hangover but kid friendly,” another said.
Release date: “The Slumber Party” will premiere on Disney Channel on July 27 and will be made available for streaming on Disney+ on July 28.
