Burger King Japan announces ‘Spy x Family’-inspired peanut butter burgers

Burger King Japan has announced its new lineup of peanut butter burgers inspired by the hit manga and anime series “Spy × Family.”
Starting on Friday, the fast-food chain will offer three “Peanut Butter Royale” burgers: the Peanut Butter Royale & Chicken, the Peanut Butter Royale & Bacon and the Peanut Butter Royale & Berry.
The Peanut Butter Royale & Chicken will feature cheddar cheese, mayonnaise and peanut butter sauce to go with its beef patty and chicken patty.
The Peanut Butter Royale & Bacon will include a beef patty joined by a bacon slice, mayonnaise and peanut butter sauce.
The Peanut Butter Royale & Berry will consist of a beef patty with mayonnaise, a peanut butter sauce and a “sweet-and-sour berry sauce” to mimic a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
For those wondering about the new peanut butter sauce, it is reportedly a combination of peanut butter, sesame paste, cheese, miso, sugar and condensed milk for a kick that’s both sweet and salty.
Although peanut butter may initially appear to be a random choice for Burger King Japan’s latest sauce, fans of “Spy x Family” will appreciate the connection between beloved character Anya and peanuts, which the pink-haired girl is obsessed with.
The limited-time burgers, which will set you back 360 yen to 460 yen (approximately $2.40 to $3.06), will be available to order at various Burger King branches across Japan until Nov. 17.
