BTS’ Jungkook becomes first Asian soloist to surpass 100M YouTube views for live performance
BTS’ Jungkook recently broke several records after a video of one of his live performances garnered over 100 million views on YouTube.
The 25-year-old South Korean artist sang his song “Dreamers,” which features Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi, during the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Doha, Qatar, on Nov. 20, 2022.
The previous holders of the speed achievement were Blackpink for the video of their live performance of “Pretty Savage” in October 2020, which reportedly garnered 100 million views in 77 days.
Jungkook’s World Cup production of “Dreamers” has also become the most-watched live performance video of a K-pop soloist in YouTube history.
The BTS member dethroned Blackpink’s Lisa, whose “‘Lalisa’ Special Stage” performance has amassed around 88 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded on Sep. 12, 2021.
