Police in Bloomington, Illinois, are investigating a string of burglaries that have targeted Asian small business owners in recent weeks.
Victim areas: The burglaries reportedly occurred in homes on the east side of the city, particularly the areas between Veterans Parkway, Towanda Barnes Road, G.E. Road and Empire Street. The residences were unoccupied when the crimes took place.
About the suspects: Police described the suspects as a group of Hispanic males between 30 and 40 years of age. What they took or whether they managed to take something at all in the three incidents reported is unknown.
Warning residents: Police issued tips to help residents prevent further incidents. These include paying attention to one’s surroundings to avoid being followed, installing home security systems and reporting suspicious vehicles near one’s home or business, to name a few.
