Aespa releases ‘Spicy’ music video for new mini-album ‘MY WORLD’
K-pop girl group aespa has dropped a new music video for “Spicy,” the title track of their latest mini-album, “MY WORLD.”
In the music video, the girls are portrayed as popular high school students showing off their lavish lifestyle and mansion.
“MY WORLD” features five songs, including “Spicy,” “Salty & Sweet,” “Thirsty,” “Till We Meet Again” and “I’m Unhappy,” — all of which were performed during the group’s “SYNK: Hyper Line” concert in February.
Additionally, aespa released music videos for the record’s accompanying B-sides.
“MY WORLD” comes nine months after their last comeback, the sophomore mini-album “Girls,” which featured the singles “Life’s Too Short” and “Girls.”

The album has already broken records with 1.8 million copies pre-ordered and first-day sales surpassing 1.19 million copies, making it the highest-selling K-pop girl group album on the first day of release.
It’s release was marked with some roadblocks as the mini-album was allegedly delayed due to creative differences within SM Entertainment between founder Lee-Soo Man and aespa’s production team.

On Monday, group members Winter and Giselle also teased upcoming music during a press conference for “MY WORLD” in Seoul.
“There indeed is a full-length album in the works, and we filled the album with songs that we’ve been saving for a full-length album, which we’ve been preparing for a long time. You may look forward to them,” Winter and Giselle said.

Karina, the group’s main dancer, also added that there is a possibility of their previously previewed solo songs appearing on a future full album.
Aespa will have an opportunity to showcase “MY WORLD” during their upcoming performances at two music festivals: Governor’s Ball in New York and Outside Lands in San Francisco.
