ZE:A leader Junyoung threatens Korean streamer with lawsuit after she accuses him of harassment

K-pop group ZE:A’s leader Junyoung plans to take legal action against Haru, a broadcast jockey (BJ) at Afreeca TV, for accusing him of harassment in a tell-all YouTube video.
BJ Haru shared in a YouTube video posted on March 21 that a “famous idol who is currently embroiled in a controversy” was harassing her online. In the video, she showed screenshots of messages she allegedly received from Junyoung, full name Moon Joon-young, demanding a refund for balloons he had purportedly sent her after she had rejected his advances.
“He said he’d like to meet me in person, saying he was my big fan,” BJ Haru said. “I refused because I felt uncomfortable.”
“Do you know why I requested you to sing with multiple balloons?” the message read. “I wanted to listen to your voice. After that, I only realized your face, body, dancing, and voices were not my type at all. I don’t know how successful you are now but I’ll see how long you’ll stay with your big ego after seeing you cold-heartedly reject someone saying falling in love at first sight.”
While the BJ did not specifically name the singer in her video, many fans deduced that the person she was talking about was Junyoung because the username “ZE:A Leader” was used to send the messages she showed.
The singer was embroiled in another controversy earlier this month after he was caught drunk driving. As this was reportedly the second time he was caught driving under the influence, his license could be revoked.
BJ Haru went on in her video to say she refunded the singer for the balloon he gave her, later showing a screenshot of a receipt for 1,689,870 Korean won (approximately $1,378).
“I was upset because it felt as if he thought I was easy,” BJ Haru said.
Junyoung reportedly posted to his YouTube Community channel, saying he would reveal the entire story once his channel reached 100,000 subscribers. The community post appears to have since been deleted.
While speaking to the Chosun Ilbo, Junyoung said he reached out to the streamer “for a music business offer, neither for sponsorship nor for dating,” while asserting that he would file a lawsuit against her for defamation.
