Chinese Medical University Exposed for Testing on Dogs in Horrific Photos
By Jacob Wagner
A Chinese animal rescue team made a horrifying discovery when they investigated the roof of a Xi’an Medical University building where dogs who were experimented on were being kept.
The team found more than 20 dogs at the university’s Weiyang campus, some alive and dead, with their mouths and legs tied.
Some dogs showed gruesome signs that surgery had recently been performed on them while others appear to have been burned.
Those that still survived were found shivering in the cold and chained to pipes to be used in future experiments.
The team, who made their discovery during the day and documented the scene with photos, waited until 8 p.m. when someone finally came up to feed the dogs.
Bloody tools used for experiments were found near the bodies including a wooden stake and packaging for animal aesthetics.
One photo caught a man hanging a dog by its neck from a rope.
According to Shanghaiist, a professor from the university explained that the staff put the dogs on the roof after injecting them with anesthetics while they waited for a “specialist institute” to euthanize the dogs.
When asked why the university didn’t euthanize the dogs themselves, the professor reportedly said they lacked the proper facilities to carry out the deed.
A student who had been experimenting on the dogs reportedly explained that they had been performing surgeries on the dogs to remove their appendixes and practice their suturing skills. They tied the dogs up out of fear that they would try to bite them.
The experimentation has allegedly been suspended. A school official stated they will work on improving the handling of the animal bodies in the future.
