Japanese Model Wows the Internet Because She’s Not Actually Real
By Bryan Ke
Meet Imma, a Japanese virtual model who is blowing the minds of many netizens because of her extremely lifelike features.
Imma, who was created and is represented by Daikanyama-based ModelingCafe in Tokyo, can be mistaken for a real person. However, she lives in cyberspace.
ModelingCafe made sure they had the tiniest details correct such as Imma’s natural hair color roots as her pink dyed hair grew.
The company credits its female artists for bringing Imma to life, according to SoraNews24.
The company’s female employees would logically make a much more realistic model since their male employees lack the experience in cosmetics that would prove to be an obstacle.
ModelingCafe has been involved with many popular franchises, including “Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV,” “Shin Godzilla Movie,” and the hit Nintendo Switch game “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
Imma’s lifelike features are apparently just the tip of the iceberg for ModelingCafe’s plan. The company reportedly wants to build her further and combine the CG aspect with an artificial intelligence program capable of real-time animation.
ModelingCafe aims to make Imma’s movements as realistic as possible compared to the anime-influenced movements of many virtual YouTubers in Japan. Like her photos, ModelingCafe wants her to be indistinguishable from a real person.
Regardless of the outcome of their plan, a close-up Imma still looks as real as a human being.
