Vanness Wu Divorces Wife Over Extreme Party Lifestyle, Lack of Support

Taiwanese star
Wu, 39, and Cheo, 35, dated for seven years before tying the knot in November 2013. Unfortunately, the couple found themselves in trouble barely a year into their marriage.
In late 2014, the pair went into a word war on Instagram, with Cheo calling Wu’s Christian faith “fake” and the latter demanding his wife to “watch your tongue.” Both have since unfollowed each other.
The clash of the couple’s personalities, irreconcilable differences and Cheo’s lack of support for Wu’s career have been reported as the main reasons for their issues.
According to Wu’s friends, Cheo struggled to live the married life as she enjoys partying through the night, Sina News reported. One claimed:
“Arissa’s personality has always been more open. She enjoys partying through the night. Her life habits are incompatible with Vanness.
“In the end, they separated. This doesn’t come as a surprise!”
Under Singaporean law, couples who wish to divorce may do so only after three years of living separately. Wu and Cheo met the requirement in May, according to Toggle.
Wu reportedly asked for a divorce several times, but Cheo refused to sign papers until recently. Her lawyer told Stomp:
“My client does not believe in divorce but at this point she is left with no other alternative.
“She has worked hard for this marriage but given the unhappy state of affairs, she has decided to end it as she no longer wishes to continue to live in hurt and pain.”
Meanwhile, Wu has yet to address the report directly. He is currently filming in Shanghai.
However, his management commented:
“A marriage is between two people. The inaccurate statements by a third party who’s not involved at all is regrettable. We hope that the outside world will give the two of them some space. We also believe that in time, the truth will be revealed.”
