Trump Gives the Most Cringeworthy Handshake of All Time to Japan’s Prime Minister
By Max Chang
Donald Trump had an awkward moment with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe inside the White House after the Japanese leader offered to shake hands in front of the press.
There was also a brief confusion at one point when the POTUS was left lost in translation, trying to decipher what the Japanese reporters were telling Shinzo Abe.
For almost twenty seconds, Trump held a tight grip on Abe’s hand, pulling it forcefully towards him.
The Japanese Prime Minister explained to Trump that the photographers were asking for him to “look at me”. Despite the seemingly clear explanation, Trump still kept looking at the cameras while Abe was looking at him.
Needless to say, Abe’s immediate reaction once Trump finally let him go was priceless.
I feel you President Abe, I feel you.
