True BLINK status: Simu Liu reveals his BLACKPINK bias
Simu Liu proved he is a true BLINK by revealing his BLACKPINK bias during an interview with NextShark on the red carpet of the Unforgettable Gala on Saturday.
Liu contemplated the question for a moment before being prompted that the terms are bias, meaning his favorite idol of the group, and bias wrecker, or the member who makes him question his bias in favor of them.
“A bias and bias wrecker. It’s definitely between Lisa and Jennie.” Liu answered.
“I feel like I like both of them. Just seeing them live, they’ve got such a swagger. Just such an ease on stage, but also the ability to command a stadium of tens of thousands of people, that is not easy to do. Seeing the both of them, they’re just killer.”
But the “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star did ultimately choose his BLACKPINK bias.

“I will say for me, my bias is Lisa.”
Liu caught the K-pop stars live during their “Born Pink” world tour in Los Angeles on Nov. 19, where he was spotted with his new girlfriend, Allison Hsu. Hsu is a digital marketing manager with BLACKPINK’s U.S. label, Interscope Records. She works on digital and social media projects for artists like Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish.
In an interview with People Magazine also on the red carpet of the gala, Liu joked the impending first meeting with Hsu’s parents over the holidays would be a “stressful time.”
Considered by many to be the strongest dancer of the group, Lisa is a fitting choice for Liu, who has shown some impressive dance moves himself with his bhangra dance to “Jalebi Baby” at this year’s Juno Awards.
“I think a teaser trailer for a movie is meant to tease. I think we gave a lot of really amazing visuals that tease something greater. We know there’s going to be music, we know there’s going to be dancing and fun and celebration. I mean, I kind of think that’s all we need to share with our audience. Anything more, you got to show up and be wowed in the movie theater.”
