Production for Netflix’s “XO, Kitty,” a spinoff of the “To All the Boys” franchise, is underway with the youngest Song-Covey sister heading off to Seoul.
Anna Cathcart is reprising her role as Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty in the upcoming 10-episode series. While Kitty may have been successful in finding a match for her sister, she finds that love is a lot more complicated than she thought after reuniting with her own long-distance boyfriend.
Netflix announced Tuesday that production for the series has begun in Seoul and revealed nine actors that have been cast.
Choi Min-yeong will take on the role of Kitty’s boyfriend Dae, along with Anthony Keyvan as Q, Gia Kim as Yuri, Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho, Peter Thurnwald as Alex and Regan Aliyah as Juliana. Yunjin Kim, Michael K. Lee and Jocelyn Shelfo have also joined the cast as recurring characters, Jina, Professor Lee and Madison, respectively.
In March, Cathcart shared a photo on Instagram of herself posing in the streets of a South Korean city, captioning it as her “home for the next few months.” The spinoff was first announced back in October.
Jenny Han, author of the original “To All The Boys” young adult novel series on which the franchise was based, serves as co-showrunner and executive producer to “XO, Kitty” alongside Sascha Rothchild and executive producer Matt Kaplan from ACE Entertainment.
