Thai Pop Star Sues Korean Plastic Surgery Clinic for $600,000 Over Boob Job That Almost Killed Her

A former pop star from Thailand is preparing a case against a hospital in South Korea for a breast augmentation procedure gone wrong.
According to Jeeranan “May” Kitprasarn, the botched boob job performed on her at Seoul’s Grand Plastic Surgery hospital in December almost took her life.
The procedure allegedly resulted in a blood infection that sent her to intensive care, leaving her with just a 10% chance of survival, Coconuts Media reports.
As the celebrity is recovering from the incident, she is also preparing to file a case against the South Korean hospital and the other parties involved as she seeks compensation of 20 million Thailand baht ($600,000) for putting her life in danger.
The facility’s Bangkok sister hospital KTOP and the Thai agent who helped facilitate the operation are also included in the planned case.
Kitprasarn’s lawyer, Wanchai Sornsiri said the case would help in the victim’s physical, emotional and financial recovery.
“We are still preparing evidence to file against both the Korean and Thai hospitals as well as the Thai agent,” Wanchai was quoted as saying.
According to Wanchai, they are also looking into filing complaints against government agencies such as Medical Council of Thailand, Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the Office of the Consumer Protection Board.
He said they want to put the institutions to task in the proper monitoring of the country’s cosmetic surgery industry and its advertising.
Kitprasarn’s legal team is willing to utilize the extent of the statute of limitations (one year) for such a case in order to become fully prepared.
To completely remove the silicone and puss from her breasts and clean up the infected areas, she had to undergo three more surgeries, which limited her shoulders and arms’ range of motion to only “90-180 degrees.”
As part of her recovery, Kitprasarn continues to undergo daily physical therapy to work on her shoulders and arms’ range of motion.
Her doctor also did not guarantee a full recovery, noting that she may also no longer be able to breastfeed.
“The doctor isn’t sure if the 360-degree flexibility [of my arms] will ever return, but it would at least take at least another 6 months to a year to further my current range,” she said.

“Right now, my breasts feel completely numb … I also have a huge scar across my chest that, according to my doctor, will take about year or two to heal.”
Kitprasarn said that she would need to have all her wounds to heal completely before she could get corrective cosmetic surgery.
