Tim Cook Got Bashed With Apple’s Ugliest Truth After Dissing New Steve Jobs Movie
“Steve Jobs,” the upcoming biopic on the late Apple co-founder, is causing tension between Apple CEO Tim Cook and screen writer Aaron Sorkin, the movie’s screenplay writer.
Cook recently asserted that filmmakers are being overtly “opportunistic” creating films based on the life of Jobs while appearing on “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
At a recent press junket for the movie in London, Sorkin refuted Cook’s criticism to the Hollywood Reporter while also saving his sharpest dagger for last:
“Nobody did this movie to get rich. Secondly, Tim Cook should really see the movie before he decides what it is.
“Third, if you’ve got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour you’ve got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic.”
Apple has encountered controversy in the past for producing their iPhones in Chinese sweat factories under harsh working conditions.
Sorkin was the screenplay writer for “The Social Network” and “Moneyball,” among others.
