‘Shang-Chi’ star Simu Liu and rapper Saweetie to appear on SNL
Simu Liu is set to host on “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) and Saweetie will be joining him as a musical guest.
SNL Hosts: On Tuesday, SNL announced the upcoming November hosts and performers on Twitter, which included Liu, who will be joined by musical guest Saweetie. It is the first time in the show’s history that both the host and musical guest are of Asian descent.
- The Canadian Chinese actor and the Filipina Chinese Black American rapper will appear on SNL for the first time on Nov. 20.
- Liu, known for his role in the blockbuster film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and CBC’s series “Kim’s Convenience,” will now be making his hosting debut for the Nov. 20 episode.
- Saweetie, who shared the news on her Instagram Story with the hashtag “icyseason,” will be performing her music on the show. She is best known for her hit single “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat and is set to release her debut album “Pretty B*tch Music” early next year.
SNL will be broadcast live from NBC’s Studio 8H in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. It will air on NBC and will be available on Peacock.
