Simu Liu on eliminated ‘The Bachelorette’ contestant Ethan Kang: ‘Make this man the Bachelor!’
Simu Liu campaigned for “The Bachelorette” contestant Ethan Kang to be the next “Bachelor.”
The actor took to Instagram to share his support for Kang after he did not receive a rose from Bachelorette Rachel Recchia on Monday night’s episode. Season 19 of the reality show follows single women Recchia and Gabby Windey as they choose their respective soulmates from 32 contestants.
“Make this man the Bachelor!!” Liu reportedly wrote on his Instagram story along with a shirtless photo of Kang.
Kang then reposted the story with the caption: “When the first Asian Marvel Super Hero reposts you. My year is made. Thank you @simuliu you’re truly an inspiration.” He also included the hashtags “#asianrepresentation,” “#aapicommunity” and “#shangchi.”
Kang is a 27-year-old advertising executive who was born and raised in Colorado but now resides in New York. Kang is described as a “hopeless romantic who isn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve” in his official show bio. He considers himself “the king of Monopoly” and said he is not interested in the nightlife scene and wants to “settle down” with a woman who is ideally “genuine, family-oriented, comfortable in their own skin and, above all else, fun.”
Although Kang was sent home on Monday, he still emerged as a fan favorite from the reality show, with many social media users echoing Liu’s support for him to become the next Bachelor.
