Simu Liu proves he is the Asian songbird of our generation with his ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ cover
By William Yuk
Simu Liu wowed his fans with an acoustic cover of “Tennessee Whiskey.”
On Monday, Liu uploaded a clip of himself performing the country music classic on Instagram. Originally recorded by David Allen Coe in 1981, the track was most recently popularized by Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake before the “Shang-Chi” star offered his own interpretation of the song.
While Liu is mostly known for his acting chops, he has a fascinating history within the music world. One of his first acting gigs was actually a brief appearance as an office worker in the music video for EDM legend Avicii’s track “I Could be The One.”
