Ryan Reynolds Is ‘EXO’s Newest Member’ After Meeting Them
By Carl Samson
Ryan Reynolds has rubbed elbows with K-Pop group EXO this week.
The “Deadpool” star is currently in South Korea to promote his new Netflix film “6 Underground”, which co-stars Adria Arjona, Mélanie Laurent, Ben Hardy, Dave Franco, Sebastian Roché, and Corey Hawkins.
EXO, on the other hand, is promoting their sixth studio album “Obsession”, which dropped on Nov. 27.
This is EXO’s first comeback without members D.O. and Xiumin, who are currently completing South Korea’s mandatory military service.
Reynolds captured moments of meeting the group, declaring himself as a new member.
“Thrilled to be EXO’s new member. I might not be able to dance or sing, but one thing’s for damn sure: I have no idea how to give the ‘thumbs up’ sign. Honestly, I never learned it,” the 43-year-old actor joked on Twitter.
He echoed the same thoughts in an Instagram post, which included a photo of his “6 Underground” co-stars Arjono and Laurent.
“I’m in the band. No, for serious. The security guard who tasered me was part of a carefully choreographed sequence me and the guys have been working on from our basement studio in my imagination.”
EXO leader Suho replied to Reynolds’s posts, writing “It was nice to meet you. I hope you have a good time in Korea. I’m looking forward to the movie.”
Meanwhile, member Chanyeol, who happens to be a “Deadpool” fan, also shared a photo of himself with Reynolds on his Instagram page.
Fans expressed delight and shared more photos of the celebrities’ encounter on Twitter:
“6 Underground” lands Dec. 13 on Netflix.
