The Rock and Spongebob’s Twitter Exchange is What Friendship is All About
By Bryan Ke
It’s not every day you see your favorite celebrity having a casual online conversation with a popular cartoon character, like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tweeting at SpongeBob SquarePants.
The oddly adorable exchange happened on June 1 when the “SpongeBob SquarePants” official Twitter page suddenly tagged Johnson with a question regarding his professional wrestling name “The Rock.”
Not only did the 46-year-old former World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler replied back a few days later, he also revealed some intriguing nicknames.
The fun exchange on social media didn’t end there, though, as SpongeBob revealed that they also earned nicknames of their own back in boating school.
Johnson and SpongeBob really do make very unlikely pals, and potentially a future comedy duo, according to Mashable. Let’s hope this amazing conversation between the two is not a one-time thing.
In his social media post, The Rock admitted that his exchange with SpongeBob was definitely his most favorite conversation.
“I have some great and productive conversations throughout my work week with a wide array of individuals, but my Twitter conversation with SpongeBob may be my fav,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Rock is genuinely one of the kindest actors in Hollywood, and one of the coolest. Last month, he surprised a high school senior who asked him to prom with an amazingly grand gesture she’ll likely never forget.
