Rich Brian ‘Regrets’ Taking This Photo For Guess Collaboration
By Bryan Ke
Guess displayed one of its giant advertisements for the GUESS x 88rising collaboration at one of its branches and Rich Brian is regretting his decision to pose for a photoshoot.
The picture in question features the Indonesian rapper, whose real name is Brian Imanuel Soewarno, sitting in front of a blue sky backdrop with his fingers intertwined — and posing as if it was for a school picture.
“I didn’t know they were gonna put it up this big in the storefronts,” Rich Brian said in an Instagram post, adding, “why the f**k did i do this pose lmaaaoooooo.”
The ad is part of the 88rising and Guess launch announcement for their sophomore collaborative capsule collection called GUE88, One Music reported.
After the success of last year’s collaboration, the two companies expanded the line to 54 pieces, including denim jackets, hoodies, bodysuits, cargo pants, accessories and more.
“After an extremely successful debut GUE88 capsule collaboration last year – where we sold out two releases within 15 minutes of each drop – this year, we’re back again for round two. We wanted to build on the tie dye theme from year one, so we based it around an acid wash concept,” 88rising founder and CEO, Sean Miyashiro, said in a statement.
“The majorly expanded line represents the essence of 88rising: we are forever living our lives on our own terms, guided in our belief for creative freedom, and along the way, forging an irresistible energy that enables us to push Asian culture to new dimensions. And we’ll keep pushing, leading our specific brand of Asian representation, and inspiring the global youth.”
In addition to Rich Brian, other artists from the label featured in the collaboration include Joji, Niki, and the Higher Brothers members, Nono, Psy.P, Masiwei and Melo.
The collection can be ordered online via 88NIGHTMARKET with prices ranging from $29 to $168. It is also available in all Urban Outfitters stores in the United States as well as select international Guess stores in Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Korea and the Philippines.
