Street Fight Over Parking Spot Ends With Car Crashing Into Just-Opened Asian Bakery in Queens

A four-man brawl over a parking spot in Queens, New York escalated with one of the men trying to run over one of the attackers with his car, which eventually plunged into a newly opened bakery.

What happened: Four men got into a heated argument over a parking spot on Kissena Boulevard near Flushing’s Main Street at around 5 p.m. on Monday, according to Gothamist.

In the video captured by bystanders, three men can be seen getting into a fistfight while another man carrying a baseball bat enters the scuffle.

The baseball-wielding man used his weapon to strike their opponents, with one of them repeatedly getting hit.
The man who was hit by the baseball bat, identified as 24-year-old Jie Zou, then got into his Audi A6 and tried to run over his assailant.

Zou lost control of his car and drove over the sidewalk into the front windows of Rainbow Bakery, which was celebrating its grand opening that day.

“It’s unbelievable, how a car can go that way,” John Lo, the owner of the bakery, told CBS2.

The aftermath: Four people — three women and a man — reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the incident on Monday, including an employee of the bakery who was hit by a shard of glass.

“I’m so sad and I’m really worried about my employee. I’m really worried about my business, too,” Lo said.
Police arrested Zou and charged him with assault and reckless endangerment. His passenger, 35-year-old Jonathan Zhang, and the other two involved in the fight will all face assault charges.
