Priyanka Chopra Jonas to produce, possibly star in ‘Assume Nothing’ adaptation
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is attached to the production of a new limited series titled “Assume Nothing” from Amazon Studios.
“Assume Nothing” follows the story of Tanya Selvaratnam’s relationship with Eric Schneiderman, the former attorney general of New York and prosecutor of Harvey Weinstein. After a traumatic end to their relationship, Selvaratnam shares her story with the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow. The revelations lead to Schneiderman’s resignation in May 2018 and his replacement by Letitia James, New York’s first female attorney general.
The series is based on Selvaratnam’s memoir of the same name and is being produced in collaboration with Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures. There is also a possibility that Chopra Jonas, 40, will star in the series.
Mimi Won Techentin, who has previously worked on “Queen Sugar,” “666 Park Avenue” and “A Million Little Things,” will executive produce and serve as showrunner.
Chopra Jonas, who won the Miss World pageant in 2000, has starred in several onscreen projects, including “The Matrix Resurrections,” “The White Tiger,” “Isn’t It Romantic” and “Baywatch.” The renowned Bollywood star is set to star in the Russo Brothers’ series “Citadel” on Amazon Prime Video with Richard Madden and the romantic comedy-drama film “Love Again” with Celine Dion, which will premiere on May 12.
