With Ash Ketchum and Pikachu now in the rearview mirror, the Pokémon Company released the trailer for upcoming show “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” on Friday.
Ash and Pikachu’s final appearance in the last episode of “Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series” on Friday marked the pair’s exit from the franchise.
Enter “Pokémon Horizons,” based on the Nintendo Switch games “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.” The franchise’s eighth series installment follows the story of Liko, Roy and their Pokémon, Sprigatito and Fuecoco, as they travel across Paled.
The new crew will come across a variety of new characters, including the Rising Volt Tacklers, a group led by Friede and Captain Pikachu who travel the world via airship.
Other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers crew are Ludlow mechanic Orla and her partner Metagross, chef Murdock and his Rockruff, healer Mollie alongside Chansey and fisherman Ludlow.
Liko and Roy will also run into a trainer named Amethio and his Ceruledge, who belong to an organization known as the Explorers, and a popular streamer known as Nidothing.
“‘Pokémon Horizons: The Series’ is set to be a thrilling journey that explores new wonders and makes fascinating discoveries about the Pokémon world,” Taito Okiura, Pokémon Company International’s marketing vice president said. “The latest ‘Pokémon Horizons: The Series’ trailer sheds further light on the mysterious adventures that await Liko and Roy, and we invite Trainers to join in unraveling these secrets when the series begins premiering outside of Japan later this year.”
“Pokémon Horizons: The Series” will premiere in Japan on April 14.
