Pokémon x Hatsune Miku collaboration to release daily unique art, music

By Ryan General
Hatsune Miku and the Pokémon Company are working on an art and music collaboration known as Project Voltage.
Daily dose of artwork: The collaboration involves the release of a unique piece of artwork that features Miku as a different type of Pokémon trainer every weekday at 7 p.m. (JST). The daily visual treat started on Monday and will end on Sept. 28.
Project Voltage kicked off with an image of Miku as a psychic-type trainer alongside the Pokémon Meloetta. The second piece of artwork, which was released on Tuesday, showed Miku as a grass-type trainer with the Pokémon Rillaboom.
Electrifying music: After unveiling all the artwork, Project Voltage will start releasing 18 brand-new songs featuring the virtual artist on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. (JST).
The tracks, which will be released “over the next few months,” will reportedly include the iconic sounds of classic Pokémon game music and sound effects. Each track is crafted by a different Vocaloid music producer, ensuring a wide range of musical styles and interpretations.
About Miku: For the uninitiated, Miku is a Vocaloid software voicebank embodying the persona of a 16-year-old girl. She has been marketed as a virtual idol, and over the years, she has made waves by performing at live virtual concerts onstage as an animated projection.
In 2018, a Japanese man made headlines after marrying the virtual character.
