The moment many Potterheads have been waiting for has finally arrived!
Niantic Labs delivered the official news in its latest blog post, revealing the title of its next mobile game, “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite”.
In partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and WB Games San Francisco’s development team, users will be able to experience what it’s like to live in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world of “Harry Potter”.

Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighborhoods and cities to discover & fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies, the developer wrote.
Just like “Pokemon Go”, Niantic’s next title will take inspiration from its first hit AR game “Ingress”.
Even though Niantic’s updates didn’t address bugs and issues until months after players reported them, “Pokemon Go” still reached 65 million monthly users in June, according to the company.
Unfortunately, the developer did not include any specific details regarding “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” in its post. A website has already been created for the upcoming game, but further details isn’t expected to be released until sometime in 2018, according to The Verge.
Rowling’s series of books — and its eight movie adaptations — became such a huge pop-culture phenomenon not just in western countries, but also throughout Asia.

In fact, some die-hard fans actually took the movie to heart, going as far as buying an owl of their own, much like Harry Potter’s pet Hedwig.
The number of owls sold in bird markets in several Asian countries, including Indonesia, India and Thailand, were rather alarming. In 2016, around 13,000 owls were sold in Indonesia alone. The prices for these owls range from $6 to $30.
