‘Legacies’ star Piper Curda to lead romantic dramedy ‘Something Casual’
Korean American actor Piper Curda has signed on to star in the independent romantic dramedy “Something Casual.”
Written and directed by Brandon Buczek, with David Parker, Lawrence Hsu and AJ Almazan as executive producers, the film follows the story of Frankie (Curda), a professional dancer, and Alex (Greetham), a struggling artist, as they navigate Los Angeles‘ casual hookup culture. Due to a string of misunderstandings in a world where dating apps and brief, meaningless relationships are the norm, the pair struggle to make sense of their complex feelings.
Curda is best known for her role as Jen in The CW’s “Legacies,” her role as Alyssa in Disney’s “Teen Beach 2” and her appearances in Wong Fu videos such as “Just Another Nice Guy.”
She is slated to star alongside Wesley Snipes and Tiffany Haddish in the upcoming comedy “Back on the Strip.” She will also be in Todd Haynes’ upcoming romantic drama “May December,” which also stars Charles Melton, Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore.
