In the viral clip, the idol is shown being followed by a growing crowd of sasaeng fans at the airport.
When Woo Jin glanced behind him, he saw more fans start to amass around him. He then suddenly made a dash to a more secure area, away from the screaming fans.
According to AllKPop, when the video went viral on Korean social media, fans took to message boards to comment on their idol’s “escape.”
“My heart is really broken,” one netizen was quoted as saying. “Please quit following him like this. I don’t know the reason why people can be like this. I’m so upset.”
“I saw this and my heart hurt so much that even now it’s hard to sleep,” expressed a concerned fan.
“Why are sasaengs like this?” questioned another. “But, wow, Woo Jin can run really fast!”
Woo Jin was recently revealed that he would be joining the five-person boy band AB6IX alongside his former Wanna One band mate Lee Dae Hwi and three other members. AB6IX will make their official debut on the K-pop scene in May, Billboard reports.
He also recently collaborated with American rapper A Boogie wit da Hoodie for a Korean remix version of the hit song, “Look Back At It.”
