Japanese singer Ado released an animated music video for the official theme song of “One Piece Film: Red,” titled “Shinjidai” (“New Genesis”).
The animated music video, shared on Ado’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, features the “world’s greatest diva” Uta — the daughter of Yonko Red Hair Shanks — singing and dancing to “Shinjidai,” which was written and composed by Yasutaka Nakata.
Ado will serve as Uta’s singing voice in “One Piece Film: Red,” while Kaori Nazuka will voice the character for the rest of the movie.
The music video was animated and directed by illustrator Hmng and choreographed by Elevenplay dance group member Mikiko.
To commemorate the release of the animated music video, “One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda has released a special illustration showing Luffy, Uta and Ado on stage.
In addition to the official theme song, Ado will reportedly work with six other artists on the songs for “One Piece Film: Red.” The tracks and their music videos will be released and teased in the leadup to the movie’s Aug. 6 premiere, with the full album set for release on Aug. 10.
Some of the songs and their artists include “Watashi wa Saikou” (“I’m the Strongest”) by Mrs. Green Apple, “Gyakko” (“Backlight”) by Vaundy, “Utakata Lullaby” by Fake TYPE, “Sekai no Tsuzuki” (“The World Turns”) by Hiroyuki Sawano, “Kaze no Yukue” (“The Wind’s Whereabouts”) by Yuta Orisaka and “Tot Musica” by Motohiro Hata.
