Group photos featuring BTS’ RM, V released by military training center

The Nonsan Korea Army Training Center on Thursday posted new group photos of its recruits, including BTS members RM and V.
What they show: RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, 29, and V, full name Kim Tae-hyung, 28, appeared on two separate group photos shared by the training center, which is based in Nonsan, South Chungcheong province. RM can be seen wearing a blue tag over his shoulder — identifying him as a platoon leader — while V has his lower face covered with a mask.
In another post on Dec. 28, BTS fans, affectionately known as Armys, spotted V wearing the same blue tag on his shoulder. V has specifically been reported to serve under the 35th Special Mission Battalion, the Republic of Korea Army Capital Defense Command’s counter-terrorism unit.
What fans are saying: Several Armys said they are proud of RM and V in their latest photos. One Instagram user noted, “They are doing so well.”
Another expressed admiration for V in his group picture, saying he was “pretty and charming any way” despite having most of his face covered.
Meanwhile, one fan raised concerns after noticing how V “looks tired,” but stressed that they were happy that the two BTS members looked healthy and good.
Catching up: A day after RM and V, Jimin, whose real name is Park Ji-min, 28, and Jungkook, full name Jeon Jung-kook, 26, became the last of BTS to enter South Korea’s mandatory military service on Dec. 12, 2023. The first member to begin his military service was Jin, or Kim Seok-jin, 31, on Dec. 13, 2022, followed by J-Hope, or Jung Ho-seok, 29, on April 18, 2023, and Suga, or Min Yoon-gi, 30, on Sept. 22, 2023.
