Netflix releases new photos, premiere date for ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 3Netflix releases new photos, premiere date for ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 3
Season 3 of Netflix’s hit dramedy “Never Have I Ever” is slated for release on Aug. 12, with 10 new episodes. Meanwhile the fourth and final season, currently in production, is set to premiere sometime in 2023.
The streaming platform announced the premiere date on Sunday as part of its Netflix is a Joke comedy festival.
The coming-of-age series follows Indian American teen Devi, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, as she navigates high school while grieving the loss of her father.
Over the course of Season 2, Devi finds herself tangled up in a complicated love triangle between Paxton (Darren Barnet) and Ben (Jaren Lewison). Unable to sort out her feelings for the two of them, Devi’s ill-conceived attempt to date them both ends up with her being dumped by both.
While Ben seemingly moves on, Paxton becomes Devi’s secret late-night hook-up, until Devi admits she doesn’t want their relationship to be kept hidden. Season 2 ends with Devi and Paxton going public at the school formal with a slow dance … but not without Ben watching from across the room.
Season 3 will continue to explore Devi’s complicated relationships and the never-ending drama of her Sherman Oaks High School.
As for why the show will soon come to an end after its fourth season, co-creator Mindy Kaling previously told Entertainment Tonight
“Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense,” she said. “They can’t be in high school forever. We’ve seen those shows. Like, you’ve been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older, and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old.”
