Netflix releases trailer for ‘The Witcher’ Season 3

Netflix released the official trailer for “The Witcher” Season 3 on Thursday.
What it’s about: “The Witcher” follows Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a mutated monster-hunter for hire who lives in a medieval-inspired fantasy world called the Continent.
The latest season of the hit fantasy drama TV series follows Geralt as he battles “many monsters, mages and other forces” alongside Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allen) and the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra).
“For years, Geralt has claimed neutrality, shunned politics and publicly asserted that witchers don’t have emotions — all to make his life as a killer easier to navigate,” series creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich told Tudum in April. “We’ve seen him battle monsters and monstrous humans; we’ve watched as he’s hardened himself in order to survive. This season, he can no longer do that.”
“The Witcher” Season 3 is inspired by “Time of Contempt,” the second installment in Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s “Witcher” book series.
Key people: “The Witcher” is directed by Stephen Surjik, Gandja Monteiro, Loni Peristere and Bola Ogun with scripts by Mike Ostrowski, Tania Lotia, Haily Hall, Rae Benjamin, Clare Higgins, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Matthew D’Ambrosio and Troy Dangerfield, among others.
Hissrich, Ostrowski, Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Steve Gaub and Jarosław Sawko serve as executive producers.
In addition to Cavill, Allen and Chalotra, the upcoming season’s other cast members include Robbie Amell as Gallatin, Hugh Skinner as Prince Radovid, Christelle Elwin as Mistle and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” actor Meng’er Zhang as the “fierce huntress” Milva.
More details: The upcoming eight-episode season will be released in two parts. Volume 1 will be available for streaming on Netflix on June 29, while Volume 2 will be released on July 27.
