Women compete to survive on an island in trailer for new Netflix Korean reality series
Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming South Korean reality survival series “Siren: Survive the Island.”
The 10-episode series is set to premiere globally on May 30 and will feature 24 women whose occupations include bodyguards, firefighters, athletes, stuntwomen and soldiers competing to survive in teams on a remote island.
They will be grouped by profession and must complete challenges that will test their physical strength, endurance, strategic minds and survival skills until only one team remains.
“The three keywords that I personally like about sports comics are ‘friendship, effort and victory.’ It always resonates with me to see [characters] being true to what they do, taking a leap of faith and achieving their desire,” Lee told The Korea Times.
Additionally, show writer Chae Jin-ah added, “We felt it would be more meaningful for the individuals with the same ethics to team up together and work together to win based on their companionship.”
“Siren: Survive the Island” is part of Netflix’s slate of new Korean series for 2023. Check out the trailer below:
