Netflix has recently announced that it will renew its widely acclaimed comedy series “Mo” for a second and final season.

The show, which premiered in August 2022, follows protagonist Mo Najjar as he navigates the challenges of being a Palestinian refugee living on the brink of obtaining asylum in the United States.
Alongside his family, including his mother and brother, Mo must adapt to his new surroundings in Houston while also dealing with the bureaucratic obstacles standing in his way. The second season will reportedly provide a conclusion to his journey for asylum.
“I’m thankful to continue to tell a universal story of struggle that relates to so many refugees and millions of underrepresented humans trying to be seen around the globe,” Mo Amer, the show’s co-creator and leading actor, told Netflix in a recent statement.

Since its release last year, “Mo” has been met with widespread critical acclaim. In addition to receiving numerous positive reviews and being considered one of the American Film Institute’s best TV programs of 2022, it has also been recognized with several awards, including a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Television Under 40 Minutes. Amer has also been nominated for a 2023 Independent Spirit Award in the Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series category.
Teresa Ruiz, Farah Bseiso and Omar Elba will reprise their roles as series regulars. Ramy Youssef, who co-created the series with Amer, will also return as an executive producer.
The second season of “Mo” will be released sometime in 2023.
