K-pop girl group MOMOLAND are calling it quits with longtime label MLD Entertainment after seven years.
In a press statement to TenAsia, MLD Entertainment announced that all six members opted not to renew their contracts. It is unknown whether MOMOLAND will continue to promote any activities together following their departure.
We want to express our gratitude to Momoland for working with us for a long time and we will continue to root for the future of all members,” MLD Entertainment said in a statement, according to K-Pop Herald.
First formed in 2016 through the idol reality competition show “Finding MOMOLAND,” the group initially consisted of winners Yeonwoo, JooE, Jane, Nayun, Ahin, Hyebin and Nancy.
They released their debut album, “Welcome to Momoland,” in November of that year.
They would then become a nine-piece group with members Daisy and Taeha joining in 2017. Yeonwoo and Taeha eventually departed two years later, with Daisy also leaving in 2020, alleging she was fired.
MOMOLAND’s career spans a studio album, six mini-albums and three single albums.
Some of their biggest hits include “Bboom “Bboom,” “Baam” and “I’m So Hot.” Their last release was the 2022 single “Yummy Yummy Love,” a collaboration with Dominican artist Natti Natasha.
