Why Miss Thailand Packed 17 Suitcases for the Miss Universe Pageant

Miss Thailand arrived in the Philippines for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant a couple of days ago and instantly made headlines just minutes after her plane landed.
Chalita Suansane, Thailand’s representative for the prestigious international beauty pageant taking place in Manila, caught the attention of many when she arrived at the airport with 17 suitcases. Yes, you read that right, so don’t attempt to give her advice on how to travel light.
Given that she will only be in the country for a little more than two weeks, many netizens reacted by saying that Miss Thailand definitely came prepared for the battle while some criticized her for bringing in too much.
Chalita’s suitcases which were probably filled with costumes, dresses, shoes, accessories, and contest paraphernalia weighing almost 300 kg (661 lbs), Yahoo UK reported.
“The suitcases only came to about 250 or 300 kg. It wasn’t all that heavy. But more than the usual 30 kg, that’s for sure,” Chalita said. “I have to take a lot of dresses and shoes. I’m so excited to be in the Philippines representing my country.”
True enough, Chalita really made sure she’s glammed up from head to toe according to her Instagram posts.
The 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines where reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will crown the next winner.
