Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh has confirmed her marriage with former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt by sharing wedding photos on Instagram over the weekend.
The wedding post: Yeoh, 60, and her longtime partner Todt, 77, got married on July 27 in Geneva, Switzerland, after a 19-year engagement.
On Instagram, the Malaysian actress shared romantic photos from their special day, including a photo of the pair exchanging rings and another of them cuddling in a bed decorated with white and purple flower petals in the shape of a heart. Yeoh celebrated the occasion and expressed gratitude for their friends and families.
“19 years and YES!! We are married!! Thkq to our ‘families’ who love us for all these years. We love you and here’s to many more to come,” Yeoh wrote.
Yeoh also included a photo of Todt’s gift: a James Bond-themed movie poster titled “Love Never Dies,” wherein Todt and Yeoh’s faces have been edited onto a couple riding a motorcycle.
Along with the “007” logo, the poster listed the apparent film as a “Jean Todt and Michelle Yeoh production” with a release date of “Thursday July 27, 2023,” referring to their wedding date.
Revealing the marriage: Former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa was the first to break the news of Yeoh and Todt’s wedding on Instagram last week. He shared photos of the couple’s wedding ceremony, three of which featured Yeoh’s Oscar statue, which she previously won for her lead role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
About the couple: Yeoh and Todt reportedly met at a Ferrari event in Shanghai on June 4, 2004. Todt, a former CEO of Ferrari and a former president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, currently serves as the United Nations Secretary General’s special envoy for road safety.
The couple owns an 18th century mansion in Geneva, where they reside, and properties in Malaysia, Paris and Hong Kong.
In a 2014 interview with the Daily Mail, Todt admitted to learning how to use a computer to “woo” Yeoh.
“I don’t use a computer. I don’t know how to,” Todt said. “I wanted to communicate with my wife, in fact. So I spoke to Michael Schumacher. We were together. He said send an SMS. I said I don’t know how to send one. So he was the one who taught me.”
