‘Master of None’ Will Return for Season 3 to Focus on Lena Waithe’s Character

The announcement came on Wednesday when the Twitter account Netflix Queue posted a few images of what’s coming on the streaming platform next month, according to Variety.

The series, a departure from the show created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, will run for five episodes under a new title, “Master of None Presents: Moments in Love,” IndieWire reported.

The episodes will be directed by Ansari and written by Lena Waithe, who plays Denise in the show.

Both Ansari and Waithe won an Emmy award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy for the second season episode “Thanksgiving.”

The Netflix comedy original premiered in 2015 and was followed by the second season in 2017. However, the fate of the third season remained unclear when Ansari was embroiled in a sexual misconduct accusation in 2018.

The 38-year-old actor responded to the accusation after the story went viral, saying the situation was “completely consensual.”

“In September of last year, I met a woman at a party,” he said. “We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual.”
