Mark Wahlberg Blasted Over Past Racism When He Assaulted Black and Asian People

The 49-year-old actor posted a tribute to Floyd on his social media account and called the fatal arrest heartbreaking, AsAm News reported.

“The murder of George Floyd is heartbreaking. We must all work together to fix this problem. I’m praying for all of us. God bless,” he said, ending the post with a hashtag Black Lives Matter.

However, some Twitter users replied to Wahlberg with screenshots of the actor’s Wikipedia page — specifically the part about his past hate crimes against people of color.

Wahlberg, then a 15-year-old, and his friends received a civil rights injunction in a 1986 incident that involved throwing rocks at Black children while yelling “kill the n*****s,” Newshub reported.

The actor was involved in a separate racial attack that same year when he and his friends followed another group of Black children on a field trip to the beach. Wahlberg and his companions again threw rocks at the children and yelled racial slurs, The Guardian reported.

Two years after the attacks, Wahlberg again assaulted other minorities. The actor attacked two Vietnamese men and called one of them a “Vietnam f**king shit.” He only served 45 days for punching one of the men and knocking out the other man with a piece of wood.

Wahlberg originally faced an attempted murder charge but it was downgraded.

The actor reportedly apologized to his victims 26 years later when he was trying to seek a pardon for his crimes. Wahlberg later dropped his requests and expressed regret in making them.
