Long-lost Korean twins who reunited after 36 years team up on ‘Amazing Race’ to ‘spend time together’

Long-lost twins who were reunited decades after being separated at birth are among the 12 pairs competing in the 34th season of “The Amazing Race.”
Molly Sinert and Emily Bushnell, who met for the first time on their 36th birthday last year, are racing around the world against 11 other teams in the adventure reality TV show for a chance to win a million dollars.
Before the show’s new season premiered on Sept. 21, Bushnell shared that she and her sister joined the show not just to win the prize, but to spend time together.
The sisters were separated as infants after being adopted in South Korea by different families. Sinert was adopted to a Jewish family in Florida, while Bushnell was adopted to a Jewish family in Pennsylvania.
Both grew up not knowing of each other’s existence but later discovered their sibling through DNA tests as adults. Their participation in the globetrotting show provides a unique opportunity for them to make up for their years apart.

The pair did well in the first two episodes, managing to complete the first leg of the competition in fifth place and the second leg in seventh place. Aastha Lal and Nina Duong, another Asian duo competing in the race, were the first to be eliminated out of the 12 teams.
“The Amazing Race” Season 34 kicked off in Munich, Germany, marking the first time in the show’s history to start outside the United States. This is also the first season in which there are no non-elimination legs in the competition.
Among the familiar faces in this season’s participants are Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss, who reality show fans may know from “Big Brother.” The pair met last year on the 23rd season of the CBS series and developed a relationship after their respective eliminations from the house.
Also competing are engaged couple Richard Kuo & Dom Jones, a pair of motivational speakers who have been together for three years.
